Generous-Justin keeps on giving

Nothing should surprise Cleveland residents at this point in Generous-Justin’s priorities. Mr. Generous was able to find 20 million dollars to donate to Gateway. In case you missed it, the recent decision by Mr. Generous, to allocate $20 million of taxpayer money to Gateway, while our own neighborhoods continue to suffer from Mr. Generous’ neglect.

It is disheartening to see such a significant sum of public funds being directed toward an initiative like Gateway, especially when our neighborhoods and schools are in dire need of investment. Our schools are rudderless, our streets remain in disrepair, and our public services are stretched thin. Meanwhile, it seems that the very neighborhoods that contributed to the taxes funding this allocation are being overlooked in favor of projects with questionable immediate benefits.

While Mr. Generous gift is admirable, especially during the season of giving, it is crucial that we send Mr. Generous packing. Redirecting such a large amount of money away from our communities not only a betrayal but also raises questions about the his decision making abilities. Our residents deserve the same level of attention and support, if not more, as those in areas outside our direct community. It is unfair to let these disparities grow while we see funds being funneled elsewhere.

The health, education, infrastructure, and wellbeing of our neighborhoods should be the foundation on which any further generosity is considered.
